AARP Tax-Aide is the nation's largest free, volunteer-run tax assistance and preparation service available to taxpayers with low- and moderate-income, with special attention to those age 60 and older.  Tax-Aide volunteers are trained to assist with filing the 1040 Form and the more standard of the schedules, including Schedules A and B. Taxpayers with complex tax returns are advised to seek paid tax assistance. Electronic filing (e-filing) is offered, with no charge to the taxpayer. E-filing ensures more accurate tax returns and faster processing of tax refunds.

Individual Taxpayer Identification Number ("ITIN") Assistance

Upon appointment, our volunteer accountants can assist local workers file and receive ITINs so they can comply with their obligation to submit annual tax returns.  Please call to make an appointment if you do not have a social security number and need an ITIN.

The IRS issues ITINs to foreign nationals and others who have federal tax reporting or filing requirements and do not qualify for SSNs. A non-resident alien individual not eligible for a social security number, who is required to file a U.S. tax return, needs an ITIN.
