Energy Savings

Energy Savings Plan
The Family Resource Center is working with the Truckee Donner PUD to screen families for eligibility for the Energy Savings Program.  If the household qualifies based on income or receipt of public benefits, the PUD will do a free energy survey of their home and provide efficient CFLs and other free and low-cost ways to reduce energy costs.  By participating in the energy survey, the household will qualify for a credit on their next PUD bill equal to an average bill and up to a maximum of $200.

The PUD has other programs that assist low-income households, such as:

     1.  Level Pay -- averages bills so that households can budget for a regular payments.

     2.  Bill amoritazation -- if you owe back bills, you can take the amount owed and spread it out over time through a payment plan.

     3.  Third party notifcaiton -- if you sign up and then fail to pay to pay a bill, the PUD will notify the person you identify.

The PUD has numerous rebate programs.  See www.tdpud.org/index.php
