Who We Are...
In 2001, the Family Resource Center of Truckee was formed by a collaborative partnership of public and private agencies, parents and community members in order to empower families and individuals to be self-sufficient, valued and contributing members of the community.
The Family Resource Center of Truckee is designed to respond to changing community needs. We frequently reevaluate our programming to ensure we meet the needs of the Truckee community. As new needs are identified, we add programming. For example, three years ago when families came to us in crisis and we had nowhere to send them to receive the services they needed, we created our legal program. More recently, we added parenting classes because no other Truckee area agency provides parenting classes for parents of difficult teenagers or parenting classes for children aged 6-10. And, we now perform outreach to community members regarding Truckee's affordable housing options and work with the Truckee Donner Public Utility District to promote low-income energy assistance programs and energy surveys.
