Youth On Fire
The FRC of Truckee is in the process of putting together a youth empowerment group which will create leaders in the Latino Youth community and engage teens in community action. In the process, our goal is to educate teens on critical issues while they choose topics and activities that are of interest. We plan to increase teen participation and strengthen community involvement. Some of the ways we plan to do this are:
- Membership and collaboration with Public Access Channel 6 to create Public Service Announcements and Monthly News Reports
- Earth Day fundraising activity from handmade products (made by them)
- Dia de los Muertos organization to educate the public on Mexican history, traditions, and art.
