Attorneys

We welcome attorneys who would like to give back by to the Truckee and North Tahoe community by providing pro bono services to local residents. Volunteer Attorneys provide legal advice in a clinic setting and can also conduct an evening workshop in their area of expertise. If you are a retired attorney, the California Bar's Pro Bono Practice Program allows retired attorneys to provide pro bono services without being an active member of the Bar. Street Law

Because we are housed in a Family Resource Center, our goal is to serve families and individuals of all ages. With this in mind, we have started a "Street Law" education program for local teens. The "Street Law" program provide teenagers with an introduction to a practical law education. It educates teens on the basics of individual rights, family law, consumer law, housing law and criminal law in a hands-on manner. In addition to producing educated citizens, street law provides an opportunity for local teens to explore law as an educational possibility for college or as a career, whether as an attorney, in law enforcement, or working in the courts. If you would like to support this program, either by donating money or time, we would love to hear from you.

Summer Legal Internship for 1Ls, 2Ls, or 3Ls

We are looking for a summer intern. We provide a unique opportunity to obtain hands-on legal experience in the beautiful North Tahoe area of California. We are a small legal program and provide the opportunity for a summer intern to have direct client contact, perform intakes and work under the direction of the staff attorney in determining what services or referrals to provide. Because we are a small nonprofit, we are unable to offer a salary, but are happy to support an applicant's request to their Public Interest Law Program, law school, or outside funder for financial support.
